Jomka (Johanna Kastner) is a photographer and artist currently based in Essen, Germany. Her work moves between documentary and conceptual approaches, often exploring themes of belonging, identity and collectivity.

She is drawn to people in their intimate and social environments, subcultures, scenes and generational dynamics, and interested in how shared spaces and temporary communities are formed. Much of her work is rooted in personal connections, blending analogue and digital techniques to create visual narratives that are both observational and constructed.

Alongside her artistic practice, she also works in applied photography including portrait, editorial and event assignments and develops graphic design projects such as exhibition posters and visual identities for cultural initiatives. She currently studies photography at Folkwang University of Arts and is co-running the offspace project DAS TATTOO (more information below), dedicated to emerging artistic voices and collective exhibition formats.
